Absolutely!!! I've yet to see anything it won't cut through! Ex: Potatoes, peppers, onions, precooked sausage with the casing, cheese, carrots, celery
Because the blades on the mandolin are non-serrated blades. A non-serrated knife does not cut tomatoes smooth, it will basically smush them!
I think that if you are thinking about purchasing this for French fries with big Idaho potatoes, then buy one of those. I wanted it specifically for onions, tomatoes, and softer vegetables. However, if it can dice a carrot a root vegetable then it will handle A potato. This is excellent for the price and attachments.
This item has interchangeable blades that pop in and out of the item. It comes with many types of cutting blades, one of which spiral cuts veggies. A very useful item and saves a lot of time preparing your food. Clean up is fast and easy, I put the parts in my dishwasher.
Not sure. I have hand washed mine. LOVE this chopper!!! Do not mind if I do have to hand wash. Would recommend buying it.

I personally haven’t tried eggplant. It may squish it too much. I have done cucumbers and they came out fine. The blades are pretty sharp (found that out the hard way) so it’s worth a shot!
No, you can’t, unfortunately, you get a 1-inch slice for a potato as far as fries and it’s really thick as well.
